Calling All Superheroes: An AWSL Elementary School Member Benefit
Calling All Superheroes is a fun and engaging program for elementary schools, available as a benefit for AWSL member schools. It can be used school-wide or in individual classrooms to help students grow as leaders and build a strong, positive school culture.
This program is built on the belief that every student can lead. It helps students learn about themselves, care for others, and take action to make their school a better place. It also aligns with Washington State and CASEL social-emotional learning standards and supports Tier 1 MTSS practices.
Program Highlights
Helps students build skills in leadership, teamwork, and kindness
Supports a positive school climate where all students feel they belong
Designed for all students, with activities for different ages and learning styles
Encourages student voice, confidence, and connection
Includes tools to support family engagement at home
Focuses on equity, access, and opportunity for every student
Lesson Design
Short, flexible lessons (about 20 minutes) that fit into the school day
Can be used in classrooms or as part of a school-wide effort
Includes fun activities like discussion, movement, art, and reflection
Comes with a teacher guide and ready-to-use resources
Offers ideas for follow-up activities to deepen learning
